All of you must keep awake and watch and pray, that you may not come into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak. Matthew 26:41
This life isn't about ME. My life is all about Christ and His plan. My focus, goals and ambitions must all be about what He wants for my life. So many things today are competing for our attention in this world. Obviously these things are most likely not God things. Many of these things are destructive and will certainly destroy our lives if we weaken to the temptation of the flesh.
I am thankful today that my God is bigger than all the temptation in this world.
I am thankful today that He offers so much more than this world has to offer.
I am thankful that God sees the big picture and knows what is best for each of us.
I am thankful for His love and forgiveness.
I am thankful for the dreams He has placed in my heart.
I am thankful for the vision He has given me so I can pursue those dreams.
I am thankful for His strength and encouragement when discouragement comes knocking at my door.
I am thankful for His guidance and provision.
Iris at Sting My Heart is hosting TT today. Scoot on over there and check out the other posts today.
Dear Heavenly Father,
Lord help me to remain focused on what you want for my life and not what I want. God may I be ever mindful of who you are and the awesome plan you have for my life. Help me to always be an encouragement to those around me Lord. And when those dreams seem millions of miles away nudge me and help me to see that waiting is a good thing. I am a work in progress for the Kingdom.
Amen.
Blessings friends!
I love how you said God is bigger than any temptation we have. Thanks so much for that thought.

ReplyDeleteWhen we become a Christian...there is no room for just "me"' It's about ALL of us..it's about God...It's like moving from a one room dorm to a mansion in a flash and trying to hog it all for ourselves? Get's pretty tiring if we did that..but if we open the door and let God in...WOW...look how much He fills it up and how little we really needed!
God is so great and wonderful and I LOVE your post..thank you So much for sharing it!
Me too, I'm thankful for the dreams that He gives to us. Those dreams make life on this earth so much more exciting.
ReplyDeleteI'm making my rounds of Thankful Thursdays on Friday.

Thanks for visiting my blog and for your comments about the "ME" world we live in. It's very easy to get caught up into that mentality and I know that maintaining your walk with the Lord keeps your focus away from yourself and on HIM and those you can encourage. Thanks for the reminder. PS your caramel drizzle coffee sounds delicious.. :D

So true - there is much temptations to get our attention this side of heaven.
ReplyDeleteI heard really alarming numbers this morning on my way to work. They had done a studies and asked the question if people believe that the Bible is truth. Only 6% of people born after 1984 believe that the Bible is truth - yikes!!!
I too am a work in progress this side of heaven. I pray that the Lord gives me strength to endure the journey.
Thank you so much for sharing your grateful heart with us this past week.
Blessings to you and your precious family.
I have something special for you...check out my blog.
