God's Blessings - Thankful Thursday

Lynn at Spiritually Unequal Marriage is hosting Thankful Thursday today. Check out the posts at her site.

This has been a very busy week. Arrived home late yesterday afternoon from Ministers' Retreat in Ocean City, MD. It was a great time with great people from the Potomac District. It was such a blessing to be given the opportunity to be with the pastor's wives and women in ministry at the Chick, Chat and Chocolate on Tuesday morning. God is so amazing and I am overwhelmed at what He continues to do with this ministry!

I am thankful today for God's provision, protection and for always being there when life simply does not make sense. I will call upon the Lord, Who is to be praised; so I shall be saved from my enemies. Psalm 18:3

Do you ever find yourself in a place of discouragement even when life seems to be going great? When I read this verse I don't necessarily think of my enemies in relation to people. I think of enemies in the form of fear, doubt, discouragement, depression and lack of self worth or confidence. We tend to make the Bible complicated and that is not what God intended. God is our Rock and our Strength. God is our Refuge. God is our Deliverer. God is all things to everyone. As a Christian we must tap into His resources in order to receive what He has for us each day. It is so easy but we tend to make it extremely complicated.

I am thankful today that I serve a simple God. Life can become confusing and very uncertain at times as we wait for direction from the Lord. Sometimes we might even feel lost in the dense forest which appears to be filled with huge overwhelming pine trees! But even in the midst of all the turmoil and confusion, God is there and He knows what tomorrow holds. He knows why we don't have the answer today for our future. Just plug into the resources God has provided for your life and ministry. He is awesome and I promise you that He will never ever disappoint you. Trust Him with your every breath. His plan for our lives is amazing and far more than you and I could ever possibly imagine!

I pray that your day will be filled with God's blessings!

  1. What an encouraging post.

It is essential that we look to God because indeed He does know what tomorrow holds. All we need is to wait on His timing and His will.
